  1. On your phone [either Android or iPhone], generate an address
  2. Click on the Scan button so the system reads your generated address
    This is the final screen where you can cancel the transaction, any action from here cannot be cancelled.

  1. Once the address is read, it is displayed on the screen, you can confirm by comparing it with that on your phone.
  2. Next you are asked to insert your dollar bill.
    Kindly place your money on the blinking platform.
  3. The amount you place is shown on the screen You can continue adding to the amount.
    Click on SEND BTC once you have deposited the equivalent amount of dollars for bitcoin

Introduction

Scope and Purpose

Ghana BTC Exchange is a unique crypto-currency exchange created with the goal of making crypto-currency trading easier and more reliable. We strive to provide our users with an exchange platform environment that is safe and secure, as well as fair and ethical. Ensuring a trusted and reliable trading environment is a top priority for Ghana BTC Exchange.

This user guide is here to assist traders in navigating the system easily and in trading successfully. Users of the exchange platform with the aid of this guide should be able signup, deposit funds, participate in trading and withdraw funds.

Process Overview

To be able to use the exchange platform, the user has to join the platform by signing up with email and password. The identity of the user is verified by submitting documents (Voters ID, Passport, National Identity Card, and Driver’s License). The user can then deposit funds into their account and then participate in the trade.

The user is presented with a simple, comprehensive interface. The interface includes form fields where the user types and uploads relevant documents. The system comes with alert notifications, email and SMS notifications when interacting with the system.

A typical sequence of using the system:

  1. Sign Up
  2. Verify Identity
  3. Two Factor Authentication using SMS.
  4. Deposit Funds (Ghana Cedis, BTC or both).
  5. Participate in Trading.

Anyone looking forward to participate in the exchange of fiat currency (Ghana Cedis) for Bitcoin or vice versa must go through this process. Personal information is captured during this process as part of the KYC processes. The captured information is verified, after which, the user is authorized to use the system.

A user’s access will be revoked, if any or part of the information provided is false.

  1. Enter the URL http://192.168.1.30:8080
  2. Click on the “Sign Up” button
  3. Enter your email address and password
  4. Click on the “Sign up” button
NOTE: The password should have at least 6 characters and it's better to contain uppercase and lowercase letters and numbers.

A confirmation link is sent to the email address used in Step 2.1. Click on the URL in the email to verify the email used.

Note: Email can be resent if not verified by clicking on the “Send It Again” button.

In order to get your account on the exchange verified, the system requires a KYC approval. This is confirmed by Administrator after reviewing and confirming the provided information is valid.

  • Click on “Submit” button on the Verify Account section.
  • Enter valid information in the form fields provided:
  • Real Name
  • Date of Birth
  • Address
  • City
  • Country
  • Zip code
  • Document Type(Passport, Driver’s License, Voter’s ID, NIA Card)
  • Document Number
  • Document Photo(Scan Copy of ID)
  • Proof of Residence (Bank Statement, Utility Bill)
  • Proof of Residence Photo (Scan Copy of Proof of Residence)
  • Click on “Update ID Document”

Add Phone Number for SMS Authentication (2 Factor Authentication)

Providing a phone number will make your account more secure. You can quickly reset your password and your account operations will be notified via SMS. SMS Authentication is required for withdrawal and other sensitive account actions.

Your account’s password cannot be retrieved if the Phone Number is not set.

  • Click on “Set” under the Phone Number section
  • Select the Country
  • Enter your 10-digits phone number without the beginning 0 (Example: 241110000).
  • Click on “Send Code”. A 6-digit verification code is sent to the number provided.
  • Enter Verification Code
  • Click “Save”
Note: Make sure the provided Phone Number belongs to owner of the account and active. Keying in wrong verification code will not active 2 Factor authentication. Unverified accounts cannot go ahead to the exchange.

Deposit Funds

Deposit Funds

Funds are required to be able to buy or sell bitcoin in the exchange. A buyer must have fiat currency credited to his account, which will be used for the bidding for bitcoin. A seller on the other hand must have bitcoin in his exchange wallet (account) in order to be able to ask for bids.

To access Funds page, click on “Funds” on the navigation menu.

The Funds page has two sections: The Ghana Cedis (Fiat currency) and Bitcoin (BTC) section.

  • Click “Deposit” under the Ghana Cedis section.
  • Select “Ghana Dot Com” as Deposit Account from the dropdown options.
  • Enter Deposit amount. Deposit amount should always be greater $100.
  • Your Deposit History should register Date and time, From (Ghana Dot Com), Amount and State as Submitting (Pending approval) with a Unique Identification Code.
    • Deposited amounts will be credited to your account after confirmation from Finance Department.
    • Also take note of the Unique Identification Code, should any case arise, you will have to provide it as reference for the Deposit transaction.
    • Successful deposits’ status will be updated to Submitted after approval and the balance on the Ghana Cedi section should also be updated with the credited amount.

  • Click “Deposit” under the Bitcoin section.
  • Transfer your BTC Deposit amount to the BTC Address or QR Code displayed on the page.
  • Your Deposit History should Time, Transaction ID, Amount, Confirmations and State.
    • The exchange generates unique addresses for users for deposits. Do not use that address outside of the exchange.
    • Please use your external common wallet services, local wallet, mobile application or online wallets for deposits.
    • The exchange requires a minimum of 3 confirmations for account to be credited with Bitcoin.

Trading

Trading refers to the buying and selling of Bitcoin. This is where fiat currencies are exchanged for Bitcoin for buyers and Bitcoin are exchanged for fiat currencies for sellers.

Buy Bitcoin

  • Enter Buying price for 1 BTC (This is the intended purchase amount in USD for 1 BTC).
  • Enter the Volume of Bitcoin you want to buy.
  • Total represents the cost of the volume of BTC being bid for. That is, Price * Amount. This field is automatically calculated by the system.
    • LOW tag on the PRICE field indicates that the BUYING price is lesser than the market price.
    • FULL tag on the TOTAL field indicates USD expenditure limit. That is, you are at expenditure limit.

Selling Bitcoin

  • Enter Selling price for 1 BTC.
  • Enter the Volume of Bitcoin you want to sell (The volume cannot be more than your available BTC asset).
  • Total represents the USD equivalence of the amount of BTC being sold. That is, Price * Amount.
    • HIGH tag on the PRICE field indicates that, the set selling price is higher than the market value for 1 BTC.
    • EMPTY tag on the AMOUNT field indicates the maximum amount of BTC that can be offered is reached. The user is emptying his or her BTC balance.

Withdraw

Users can withdraw or take out funds from the exchange. Users, who joined to buy Bitcoin, can withdraw Bitcoin after successful purchase. Likewise, a user who joined to sell Bitcoin can withdraw Ghana Cedis after successful trades.

  • Click “Withdraw” under the Ghana Cedis section
  • Click on “Mange Withdraw”.
    • Select “Ghana Dot Com” for Bank in the pop up dialog box.
    • Click Add
  • Enter Withdraw Amount. Amount should not be less than $100.
  • Request for the verification code by clicking on “Send Code”
  • Enter 6-digit verification code sent via SMS.
  • Click Submit
  • Your Withdraw History should list the withdrawal transaction with State/Action pending.
  • Withdrawal Amount can be redeemed from the Finance Department after approval from administrator.
    • Withdrawal comes with a _% fee calculated on the amount of withdrawal.
    • For security purposes an SMS code is required for withdrawal. Phone number associated with account should always be available during withdrawal.
    • Note that, the page reflects your current balance of Ghana Cedis asset. Balance less than $100 cannot be withdrawn.

  • If no address is listed as default Withdrawal account, click on “Mange Address”.
    • Enter an external BTC Wallet Address in the pop up dialog box.
    • Click Add
  • Enter Withdraw Amount. Amount should not be less than BTC 0.001.
  • Request for the verification code by clicking on “Send Code”.
  • Enter 6-digit verification code sent via SMS.
  • Click Submit
  • Your Withdraw History should list the withdrawal transaction and Fee with State/Action pending.
  • Withdrawn amount is sent to the external Wallet address after approval from Administrator.
    • Withdrawal comes with a flat fee of 0.0001.
    • For security purposes an SMS code is required for withdrawal. Phone number associated with account should always be available during withdrawal.
    • Note that, the page reflects your current balance of BTC asset.
